Blake flew out of the blocks then sped away from the field to win the event. It was Blake’s second sub-10 clocking of the season after his 9.93 at Jamaica International Invitational Meet on May 20.
“It has been going really good for me. Usain told me before I came out here, ‘Blake stay patient’ and that’s what I did,” said Blake.
South Africa’s Akani Simbine was second in 10.00 ahead of Keston Bledman of Trinidad and Tobago 10.22.
Kemar Bailey-Cole of Jamaica was fourth in 10.23.
Meanwhile, Kelly-Ann Baptise from Trinidad and Tobago won the women’s 100m in 11.13 ahead of the US Jenna Prandini 11.16 and Natasha Morris of Jamaica 11.16.
